How do I register my child or team for The G League?
Registration for The G League is exclusively online via our website. Whether you’re signing up a full team or an individual player looking to join a Grace Basketball team, simply visit our G League homepage and follow the registration link provided. You will then be contacted with a payment link to secure your spot.
What are the age requirements to participate in The G League?
At the GLeague, we’ve taken a different approach to age requirements compared to traditional basketball clubs. This means that if you’re in Year 3 and Year 4, you can play together, and the same goes for Year 5 and 6, Year 7 and 8, and Year 9 and 10.
What is the registration fee, and what does it include?
Grace Basketball Coached Teams:
- Grace Basketball player to team Registration: $250 per season
- Grace Basketball Club Fee: $75 Coaches ( Training & Games), venue training hire, admin. Per season.
Insurance: $40 (12 months)
Uniform Bond $50 (one off)
Register an independent team:
- Player to team Registration: $250 per season
- Insurance: $40 (12 months)
I have registered, when do I have to pay?
Once the team registration cutoff has passed, teams and fixtures will be sorted. Payment links will then be sent out through Play HQ where you will need to register and make your payment. Keep an eye out on emails and social media.
Are there payment options available?
Yes, you can choose to pay in 4 installments with PayPal Afterpay when registering on Play HQ.
What if my child has not played basketball before?
The G League welcomes players of all skill levels, including beginners to rising stars. Training sessions are offered for upskilling participants. There are also extra programs available with Grace Basketball should you want to fast track your child’s development.
My child missed out on WABL, would this suit?
Absolutely! Grace Basketball has seen many beginners grow into WABL-level players, only to watch them move on to bigger opportunities. While it’s bittersweet, it’s also a testament to the success of our program. The G-League now offers a valuable opportunity for players who may have missed out on WABL or domestic club participation. With a strong emphasis on skill development and plenty of court time, the G-League provides a platform for players to thrive and reach their full potential.
What are the game days and times?
All games are scheduled for Saturdays, and detailed timings can be found under the G League seasons section on our website.Fixtures will be released closer to the term starting.
How long is the season?
Season runs for Terms 2 and 3 for Winter and Term 4 & 1 for Summer.
Will there be referees officiating the games?
Yes, the G League supplies all qualified referees for the games.
Are there any specific rules or regulations I should be aware of?
The G League will follow FIBA basketball rules but also modify rules to enhance the flow of game creating an environment for skill development.
Is there grading?
Grading will depend on the amount of enrollments. Teams will be put together based on information provided at the time of registration.
Can players join mid-season if they missed the initial registration?
Mid-season registration is possible if there is availability on a team. However, this is not guaranteed, and full fees apply. Contact us through our website if you missed the initial registration.
Will there be practices, and if so, how often?
Grace Basketball teams will conduct one training session per week, location dependent. Attendance is not mandatory if your schedule doesn’t suit.
Are there any opportunities for skill development or coaching clinics?

Can I request to be placed on a specific team?
At the G-League, we understand the importance of playing alongside friends and teammates who share your passion for basketball. We strive to accommodate these requests as best we can for a Grace Basketball team. If you have a group of friends you want to play with, you can also register your own individual team?
Is there a uniform requirement for players?
Players are required to wear a numbered jersey. and playing shorts. Grace Basketball teams will receive a loan jersey at the beginning of the season, which must be returned at the end and wear plain black pocketless shorts during games. (These can be purchased at department stores)
Can parents or guardians volunteer as coaches or team managers?
Grace Basketball teams will be coached by Ricky Grace and his elite team of coaches. We will, however, need team managers for each team. When team placements are announced, there will be an opportunity for parents or guardians to volunteer as team managers.
If you are entering a complete team, you will be required to have your own coach and team manager to facilitate the team’s participation in the league.
